Where, and by who, was the book published?

The Book was written under contract to Key Porter Books (formerly in Toronto, apparently now closed permanently) and licensed for distribution in the US by Firefly Books. The Author donated his royalties to World Wildlife Fund, Canada (hence the use of the WWF logo on the cover). It is important to note that the Firefly Books edition was published under a title that Key Porter was specifically told NOT to use (read the whole sordid story on the Editions page) and that they pay no royalties to the WWF! The Book was published in Summer 2004 but the Key Porter edition quickly became hard to find, was never re-printed, and it was "remaindered" in late 2006. The Author is the only current source for the Key Porter edition (autographed!). The Firefly Books edition is still commercially available.

Errata & Corrigenda

Errors and additions to the text and photos

Despite the best efforts, a few typographic errors, mistakes, omissions, and, sad-to-say, publisher-induced reformatting errors crept into the finished book. Corrections for many of these are provided here. Note that the bulk of the errors occur in both editions of the book, however, where errors are specific to one edition or the other they are followed by (KP), referring to the Key Porter Books (Canadian) edition, or (FF), referring to the Firefly Books (American) edition. Please let me know of any other errors that you find...

Where to Buy...

Places & sites to order the book

The best source is the Author. Why? Because the Author donates $2 of every Book to WWF Canada, as was originally intended. Autographed copies of the Key Porter edition are available for $10 CDN (+ $2 donation + actual shipping & handling). Use the Contact Page to send a note to the Author. The Firefly Edition is still available from larger booksellers (Amazon, Chapters) in both Canada and the US (but none of that money goes to the WWF!)

This page gives links to download an ePub format file for eBook readers or "screen-resolution" Adobe Acrobat (PDF) files of the entire book. What this means is that they look great on your reader, computer or tablet screen but terrible if you try to print them.
