The Book was a direct result of two previus endeavours: writing A World for Butterflies: Their Lives, Behaviour and Conservation for the same publisher (Key Porter Books) and my knowledge of the Monarch Butterfly, because in 1996, I was contracted by the Commission for Environmental Cooperation (aka NAFTA) to assemble a report on the Status, Distribution and Conservation of the Monarch Butterfly in Canada.
